Genevia Ann Lanier Modisette, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on October 23,2023 at the age of 73. She was born on June 29, 1950, in Jenkins Community on Lonestar Lake and her life was a testament to the power of creativity, love, and family.
Genevia had a passion for creating beautiful things with her hands. She excelled at woodworking, decorating her home, tending to her flowers, and sewing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, ML and Dorothy Lanier, and her brother Shot Lanier. Their memories will always hold a special place in the hearts of those who loved her.
Genevia is survived by her loving husband, Charles Modisette, who stood by her side through thick and thin, sharing the joys and challenges of life. Their bond was a testament to the enduring power of love. Also, her siblings, La Juan Barton, Scottie Lanier & James Lanier.
She is also survived by her son, Stephen Modisette, and his fiancée, Pam, as well as her daughter, Melissa Morrow, and her husband, Dillon. Genevia's love and support for her children were unwavering, and her legacy lived on in their hearts.
Genevia's adoring grandchildren include Danielle Modisette-Scott and her husband, Chris; Lindzee Modisette and her fiancé, Caleb; Jason Pendleton, Madison Pendleton, Jacey Pendleton, Mason Pendleton, Dalton Modisette, and Corey Modisette. Each grandchild was a source of pride and joy for Genevia, and her nurturing spirit enriched their lives in countless ways.
Her great-grandchildren, Waylon Scott, Kaysley Pendleton, Jaxon Pendleton, Karson Pendleton, and Emmet Krug brought immense happiness and warmth to her life, and her love for them was boundless.
As well as a host of other family members and friends.
Genevia's memory will live on in the hearts and minds of all those she touched with her kindness, creativity, and love. She was a woman of strength, grace, and unwavering dedication to her family. She will be deeply missed and remembered with love by all who know her.
A memorial service to celebrate Genevia Ann Lanier Modisette's life will be held at Laird Hill Baptist Church at 10:30 in the morning on Saturday October 28th, 2023.
