We are devastated to announce the unexpected passing of George Carlisle Davis Jr. on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at the age of 65. George was born December 21, 1957 in Union City, Tennessee to Dr. George Carlisle Davis Sr. and Alice D. Davis.

He obtained an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana and was a dedicated leader in Power and Utilities construction field for 40 years. George was a simple man who possessed a kind soul, giving unconditional love and support to his family, the greatest joy of his life, throughout his time on earth. He was passionate about God, his family, his job, LSU Tigers, cooking, and duck hunting on Reelfoot Lake with his loyal retriever, Lilly. Above all, he was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 30 years Melissa Briley Davis, daughter Carlye Davis Graugnard and her husband Gregory, son George Ashton Davis and his significant other Mckenzie Reese, brother Dr. Leland Davis (Tajuana), sister Paula Davis Wilson (Ward) and a host of in-laws including his mother and father in-law Margaret and Ashton Briley Jr., nieces, and nephews.

George Carlisle Davis Jr will be deeply missed by his wife, children, family, and friends.

A mass will be held in memory of George Carlisle Davis Jr at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte, Louisiana with Father Blaine Clement officiating.
