Funeral services for Glyn Juanita Shelby, 88, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Sunday, February 18, 2018, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Mr. Ken Maddox officiating. Interment will follow at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point.
She passed away Thursday afternoon, February 15, 2018, in Wills Point surrounded by her family.
Glyn was born January 16, 1930, in Pattonville, Texas, the daughter of John Wesley Ray and Elsie Lee Cotton Ray. She was raised in Red River County, where she attended public school. On September 7, 1946, she married Jesse Lawrence Shelby in Clarksville. In 1955, they moved to Dallas and in 1964 they made their home in Edgewood. On April 29, 1999, Jesse preceded her in death and Glyn later married Lamar Keith. She was formerly employed as a seamstress for Malouf Manufacturing Company in Wills Point and did contract work as a seamstress, retiring in 2005. After retirement, she worked at the Heritage Park in Edgewood. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and having fun with her family. Glyn was a member of the Edgewood Church of Christ.
Preceded in death by her parents, John Wesley and Elsie Lee Ray; husband, Jesse Shelby and mother-in-law, Nannie Shelby.
Glyn is survived by her husband, Lamar Keith, of Grove, Oklahoma; four daughters, Barbara Storbeck & husband, Rodney, of Wills Point, Jo Ann Daugherty & husband, Charles, of Wills Point, Sue Travis & husband, Jerry, of Wills Point and Phyllis Shelby, of Tyler; step-daughter, Debra Dunn & husband, Larry, of Colorado; step-son, Jim Keith & wife, Karen, of Edmond, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Jeff Travis & wife, Amber, of Carthage, Laura Beckett & husband, John, of Edgewood, Tammy Cooper of Wills Point, Kim Davis of Edgewood, Lisa Overton & husband, Ray, of Edgewood, Amanda Hollister & husband, Jeremy, of Wills Point and Jesse Daugherty & wife, Jennifer, of Edgewood; sixteen grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
