Funeral services for Hulan Riley Gunter, 96, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 15, 2017, at the Edgewood Church of Christ with Mr. Larry DeLong and Mr. Ken Maddox officiating. Interment will follow at Rock Hill Cemetery in Wills Point under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.
He passed away Saturday morning, May 13, 2017, in Grand Saline.
Hulan was born July 2, 1920, in Wills Point, the son of Sam Gunter and Lottie Eskew Gunter. He was raised in Wills Point, where he attended public school. Hulan was a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II. In May 1947, he married Lillian Francis Moore. Hulan was employed by Dallas Plumbing for twenty-eight years and was also a farmer, where he raised cattle. He enjoyed baling hay and raising cows. He lived in Dallas prior to moving to Wills Point in 1962. Hulan was a member of the Edgewood Church of Christ.
Preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Lottie Gunter; wife, Lillian Gunter; two brothers, T.V. Gunter and Lloyd Gunter and a sister, Ruth Gunter.
Hulan is survived by two daughters, Linda Kerr & husband, Randy, of Wills Point and Iva Thompson, of Wills Point; grandson, Chris Kerr & wife, Jennifer, of Wills Point and two great-grandchildren, Jordan Kerr and Whitney Kerr.
Family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to service.
