Funeral services for James Crawford Moore, 86, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Rev. Mike Stone officiating. Military honors will follow at Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery in Dallas at 2:15 p.m.
James passed away Thursday afternoon, August 24, 2017, surrounded by his family, to be with our Lord and Savior.
James was born May 10, 1931, in Bradley, Arkansas, the son of Herbert Phillips Moore and Lillian E. Beard Moore. He was raised in Lake Village, Arkansas and graduated from Lake Village High School in 1949. James proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for ten years and the United States Army for ten years, retiring in 1971. On December 17, 1977, he married Barbara Kuykendall in Garland. He was owner/operator of Unique Cleaners in Terrell for twenty years. He lived in Terrell prior to moving to Wills Point thirty-six years ago. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf, fishing, going to garage sales and flea markets. James was a member of the V.F.W. 5076 in Garland and was of the Church of God faith.
Preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Lillian Moore and a brother, Travis Moore.
James is survived by his wife, Barbara Moore, of Wills Point; four sons, Jimmy Moore & wife, Leisha, of Virginia Beach, VA, Matt Bennett & wife, Shiree, of Wills Point, Chris Bennett & wife, Kailey, of Wills Point and Phillip Moore & wife, Jennifer, of Forney; three brothers, Lawrence Moore & wife, Rose, of Shreveport, LA, Delroy Moore & wife, Lillian, Coalinga, CA and Gene Moore & wife, Patti, of Garland and fifteen grandchildren, Jason, Cassidy, Alyssa, Justin, Taylor, Megan, Madison, Caden, Lauren, Caytee, Coby, Luke, Mason, Aiden and Kirstyn.
Military will serve as pallbearers.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
