Obituary

Funeral services for Jean Weatherford, 79, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 28, 2017, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Grandson, Joe Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Creagleville Cemetery near Grand Saline.

She passed away early Monday morning, September 25, 2017, at her residence.

Oma Jean was born May 29, 1938, in Dallas, Texas, the daughter of William Jacob Meyer and Esta Snyder Meyer. She was raised in Mesquite, where she attended public school. On June 11, 1956, she married Jim Weatherford in Mesquite. Oma was a homemaker and enjoyed collecting dolls, gardening and fishing. She also enjoyed helping others and making people happy. Oma loved her children and grandchildren very much and spending time with them was the most important to her.

Preceded in death by her parents, William J. and Esta Meyers; brother, David Amburn; two daughters, Carrie Rebecca Weatherford and Trina Gail Weatherford and a son, Ricky Lee Weatherford.

Jean is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jim Weatherford, of Wills Point; son, Robert Lewis Weatherford & wife, Linda, of Sulphur, Oklahoma; three daughters, Jimmie Lynn Weatherford, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, Carolyn Ann Parker & husband, James, of Wills Point and Joan Denise Belknap & husband, Sam, of Petrolia; sister, Annie Griffin, of Wills Point; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
