Funeral services for Jean Whitwell, 70, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 16, 2015, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Pastor Jim Baker officiating. Interment will be at Rock Hill Cemetery near Wills Point.
She passed away early Tuesday morning, April 14, 2015, at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.
Jean was born on December 18, 1944, in Kingsport, Tennessee, the daughter of George Moorehouse and Margaret Dillowe Moorehouse. She was raised in Kingsport where she graduated from Sullivan High School. On February 11, 1966, she married David Whitwell in Kingsport. Jean was a homemaker and an artist. She loved the Lord and her family very much and enjoyed cooking, playing the organ and singing.
Preceded in death by her parents, George and Margaret Moorehouse; two brothers, Bill Moorehouse and Johnny Moorehouse; sister, Hazel Moorehouse and a granddaughter, Melanie Miller.
Jean is survived by her husband, David Whitwell, Sr., of Wills Point; two sons, David Whitwell, Jr. & wife, Crystal, of Forney and Darin Whitwell & wife, Julie, of Royse City; three daughter, Jennifer Miller & husband, Beryl, of Panama City, Florida, Jill Rouse, of Wills Point and Julie Newberry & husband, Steven, of Jay, Florida; sixteen grandchildren, Nicole Miller, Nathan Harrison, Brian Miller, Hunter Whitwell, Hayden Whitwell, Holden Whitwell, Tyler Benton, Avery Whitwell, Samantha Sample, Chance Liedig, Drew Garcia, Quinten Garcia, Justice Garcia, Tori Whitwell, Grace Whitwell and Luke Whitwell and three great-grandchildren, Brandyn Miller, Lacy Miller and James Harrison.
