Funeral services for Jeanne Cotten, 64, of Garland, formerly of Wills Point, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at First Baptist Church in Wills Point with Rev. Don Tisdale officiating. Interment will be at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.
She passed away early Saturday morning, August 4, 2018, at her home in Garland.
Jeanne was born March 1, 1954, in Wills Point, the daughter of Blake Furrh and Mary Jo Miller Furrh. She was raised in Wills Point and graduated from Wills Point High School in 1972. She later graduated from East Texas State University in Commerce. On July 3, 1976, she married Ronald Cotten in Wills Point. Jeanne was formerly employed as a teacher for the Wills Point I.S.D., Mesquite I.S.D. and retired from the Forney I.S.D., in 2007, for a total of twenty-nine years. She loved spending time with her family, traveling, reading and her University of Texas Longhorns. Jeanne had lived in Garland for the past thirty-four years. Jeanne was a member of Lake Pointe Church in Rockwall and T.E.A.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Blake and Mary Jo Furrh.
Jeanne is survived by her husband, Ronald Cotten, of Garland; son, Jeff Cotten, of San Antonio; three sisters, Cathy Davis & husband, Don, of Wills Point, Ann Mitchell & husband, Larry, of Wills Point and Holly Stokes & husband, David, of Wills Point; several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
