Born in Dallas, TX on Sep. 20, 1954
Departed on Feb. 20, 2015 and resided in Seagoville, TX.
Funeral services for Jerry Glenn Bird, 60, of Seagoville, formerly of Wills Point, are scheduled for 12:00 noon Thursday, February 26, 2015, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Rev. Richard Oliver officiating. Interment will follow at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point.
He passed away suddenly Friday evening, February 20, 2015 at his home.
Jerry was born September 20, 1954 in Dallas, Texas, the son of William Howard Bird and Betty Jean Hedgpeth Bird. He was raised in Dallas, where he attended school. Jerry was employed by Neiman-Marcus for over twenty years, retiring in 2014. He enjoyed fishing, watching movies and building model cars. Jerry lived in Wills Point for several years prior to moving to Seagoville in August 2011. He was of the Baptist faith.
Preceded in death by his parents, Bill Bird on August 8, 2011and Betty Bird on May 2, 2010 and two sisters, Pam Veach and Terry Kelly.
Jerry is survived by his daughter, Zaneta Oliver & husband, Brian, of Seagoville; brother, John Bird, of Troy; grandson, James Oliver, of Seagoville and several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday one hour prior to service.
Memorials may be made to the Homeless Ministry at Christ Community Fellowship, 9510 Briggs Street, Dallas, Texas 75227.
