Funeral services for Jerry Dale Wells, Sr., 73, of East Tawakoni, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Wills Point with Elder Hyrum Grandy officiating. Interment will be held at a later date at Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.

He passed away early Monday morning, November 20, 2017, at his residence in East Tawakoni.

Jerry was born on August 20, 1944, in Davis, Oklahoma, the son of Wilburn Charley Wells and Velma Zona Bragg Wells. He was raised in Dallas, where he graduated from high school. Jerry was a veteran of the US Marine Corps for four years and three years in the US Army. During his service, he received a Bronze Star, Army Commendation Metal, and Presidential Unit Citation. On November 14, 1974, he married Carol Trimble in Dallas. Jerry was formerly employed in the HVAC business for fourteen years, retiring in 1985. He lived in Seagoville prior to moving to East Tawakoni one year ago. Jerry was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Wills Point.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilburn Wells and Velma Wells Cave; daughter, Leslyn Wells; two brothers, Charles Wells and Thomas Wells and a sister, Barbara Taylor.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Carol Wells, of East Tawakoni; three sons, James Wells & wife, Judy, of Forney, Kenneth Wells & wife, Kelly, of Garland and Jerry Wells, Jr. & wife, Jennie, of Salt Lake City, Utah; two daughters, Kimberly Garrett & husband, Larry, of Irving and Leslie Wells, of Salt Lake City, Utah; brother, Larry Dean Wells, of Waskon; sister, Carolyn Hahn, of Wills Point; fifteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to service.
