Funeral services for Jessica Denise Bates, 53, of Edgewood, are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Bro. Gerald Huckabee officiating.  Interment will follow at Myrtle Springs Cemetery.

She passed away early Friday morning, June 28, 2019, at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler.

Jessica was born October 27, 1965, in Grand Saline, the daughter of D.H. Chaney and Nancy Simpson Chaney.  She was raised in Myrtle Springs.  On July 24, 1981, she married Dean Bates.  Jessica was formerly employed as a waitress at Sybil's Country Kitchen in Myrtle Springs for fifteen years.  Jessica enjoyed traveling, going to the casino and playing with her grandchildren.  In 1989, she moved to Edgewood.  Jessica was of the Baptist faith.

Preceded in death by her father, D.H. Chaney, Sr.

Jessica is survived by her husband, Dean Bates, of Edgewood; mother, Nancy Chaney, of Jacksonville; two daughters, Narona Bates, of Edgewood and Crystal McBay & husband, Brice, of Edgewood; brother, D.H. Chaney, Jr., of Mansfield and four grandchildren, Brian Hulse, Hayden Hulse, Uriah McBay and Tobias McBay.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
