Jessie Alonzo Douthitt, 96, of Point, Texas passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at his residence.

Jessie was born on March 22, 1926, to the late Woody and Linnie Douthitt in Fruitvale, Texas where he was also raised. Jessie married his late wife Betty Payne on November 14, 1949. Together they shared 67 years of their life. Jessie retired from Dalstrom Construction in 1985. He enjoyed fishing, camping, wrestling, and family get togethers.

Jessie leaves behind his daughters, Glenda Emerson of Point and Sharon Wooley and husband Orville of Rhome; brother Odie Oneil and wife Joan of New Jersey; sister-in-law Vera Taylor of Arlington; grandchildren, Michael Douthitt, Daniel Douthitt, Angelina Aaron, Jeffrey Petty, Staci Petty, Michelle Henderson, Lori Emerson, Linsey Emerson and Diane Douthitt; 26 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren; and many other loving relatives and friends.

Jessie is preceded in death by his parents Woody and Linnie Douthitt; wife Betty Douthitt; son Jessie Lee; six brothers and five sisters.

Visitation will be held for Jessie Douthitt on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Mullin-Fuller Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 6, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Mullin-Fuller Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at Creagleville Cemetery.
