Funeral services for Jimmy David Hollon, 88, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2018, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Rev. Don Myers officiating. Private graveside service will be Monday, April 2, 2018 at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas.
He passed away early Tuesday morning, March 27, 2018, in Canton.
Jimmy was born November 9, 1929, in Dallas, the son of Dan P. Hollon and Lorain Nayler Hollon. He was raised in Dallas and graduated from Forest Avenue High School in 1949. He was a veteran for the United States Air Force. On February 26, 1949, he married Dorothy Jean Locke in Rockwall. Jimmy was formerly employed as a PBX installer for Southwestern Bell for thirty-two years, retiring in 1980 and was also a cattle rancher. He lived in Dallas prior to moving to Wills Point forty-five years ago. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing Dominoes, traveling in his R.V., tending to his cattle and spending time with his family. He was a former member of the Wills Point Riding & Roping Club and the Telephone Pioneer R.V. Club. Jimmy was of the Methodist faith.
Preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Lorain Hollon; brother, E.R. Hollon and a sister, Dan′L Lusby.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Dorothy Hollon, of Wills Point; two sons, Ricky Hollon & wife, Mary, of Wills Point and Robin Hollon & wife, Sandy, of Terrell; four grandchildren, Christy O'Hearn & husband, Dave, Melissa Crain & husband, Coy, Haley Efthim & husband, John and WaTonya Wasson & husband, Dr. Bob and nine great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday one hour prior to service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Red Cross.
