Obituary

Funeral services for Jo Munns, 93, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at the Wills Point Church of Christ with Mr. Dan Carter and Mr. Ken Maddox officiating. Interment will follow at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.

She passed away early Sunday morning, May 14, 2017, in Wills Point.

Jo was born May 19, 1923, in Sweetwater, Texas, the daughter of Mathew Hines Hendley and Bertha Myrtle Carter Hendley. She was raised in Sweetwater, where she attended public school. On March 22, 1946, she married Cecil Elbert Munns in Rockwall. Jo was formerly employed by Southwestern Bell, Western Electric and was owner/operator of Countrymen's Café in Wills Point. She enjoyed going to church, reading her Bible, spending time with her grandchildren and family and keeping her house clean. Prior to moving to Wills Point in the early 1960's she lived in Pleasant Grove. Jo was a member of the Wills Point Church of Christ.

Preceded in death by her parents, Mathew and Bertha Hendley; husband, Elbert Munns on February 18, 1990; son, Tommy Munns on March 11, 2010; three brothers, Carter Hendley, LaRue Hendley and Wardo Hendley; sister, Dolores Knight and a granddaughter, Jessica Brooke Munns.

Jo is survived by her daughter, Shelley Munns, of Wills Point; brother, Dan Hendley & wife, Pat, of Canton; sister, Norma Holt & husband, Bob, of Terrell; sister-in-law, Betty Hendley, of Wills Point; five grandchildren, Heather Scott, Shannon Hendrick, Tiffany Gervin, Chaes Munns and Ethan Munns; eight great-grandchildren, Brandon, Joshua, K'lee, Taryn, Luke, Jack, Avery and Madison; six great-great grandchildren, Preslee, Jayce, Avelynne, Bryleena, Noah and Tristan; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
