Obituary

It is with profound sadness the family announces the passing of Joan Gale Allen, at the age of 69, after a brief illness.  She was the beloved wife of the late Charles Allen, married in San Diego on December 13, 1969.  She leaves to mourn sons: Charles "Chuck" Allen, and wife Shea; John Allen, and wife Kelli; daughter: Amanda Hayes, and husband Mark; grandchildren: Collin Hayes, Joshua Schreffer, Nathan Thomas, Aida Allen, Viktoria Leal, Destini Healy, and Noah Barber; great-grandchildren: Michial Allen; along with numerous former exchange students.  She spent many hours caring for John and Helen Neill of Wills Point.
Joan served the community at numerous places: City Pharmacy, Methodist Day School, First Baptist Day School, Wills Point ISD, Cousins Sandwiches, and Joan's Kitchen.  She was a member of New Release Baptist Church, the Wills Point Pilot Club, the Wills Point Kiwanis Club, and the Rotary Club.  Joan enjoyed crocheting and travelling, and loved her dogs.  Her calling was caring for children and cooking meals and deserts for people all over Texas.  She touched many people throughout her lifetime with her exceptional care, kindness, and compassion.

The Family will receive your condolences on Friday, December 6, 2019 at 1 PM for Visitation with the Service following at 2 PM at New Release Fellowship Baptist Church in Wills Point. Services will be under the care of Allan Fuller Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Wills Point Education Foundation in Joan's name at Wills Point ISD, 338 West North Commerce St., Wills Point, TX, 75169.
