John Fain Cravens, Jr, 73 of Eustace, Texas, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2022.

John was born on April 13, 1949, to the late John Fain and Elizabeth Cravens. He grew up in Tuscaloosa and was a graduate of Tuscaloosa High School and The University of Alabama. He served in the Air Force as a Sgt and was honorably released from Active Duty in Charleston South Carolina on May 22, 1975. John moved to Eustace from Houston 20 years ago. John worked for an animal rescue facility called Stray Dog. They treated our brother with the upmost love and respect while living in the area. John was a follower of Jesus and had a love for all animals. John was thought of by his family as a man of many gifts and talents.

John is preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Tom Belk.

John is survived by his brother Pete Cavert; sister Liz Belk, Alice Cravens Hicks and Virginia Cravens Houston and Rich; nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Cavert Morrison and Greg, Katie Cavert Ferrell and Jeremy, Cravens Belk and Emilee, Virginia Belk McNeill and Burns, Brannon Hicks and Ellen, Timothy Hicks and Maxwell Hicks, and Brooke Houston; along with many cousins, great nephews, great nieces, relatives, and friends.
