Funeral services for John Wesley Hailey, 78, of Cooper, formerly of Wills Point and Dallas, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 22, 2018, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Pastor Jerry Clements officiating. Interment will follow at Bright Star Cemetery north of Wills Point.
He passed away Tuesday night, September 11, 2018, in Cooper.
John was born February 21, 1940, in Kaufman, the son of James Wesley Hailey and Jaunita Davis Hailey. He was raised in Wills Point and Kaufman, where he attended public school. He was a veteran of the United States Army. On February 13, 1965, he married Patricia Ann Thomas in Wills Point. John was formerly employed by the Dallas Times Herald, Frito Lay and retired from Lehigh Press in 2000. After retiring, he was self-employed as an electrician. Prior to moving to Cooper one year ago, he had lived in Dallas for thirty-eight years and Tira for twenty years. He enjoyed going to Church, playing golf and watching Fox 4 News. John was a member of Hwy 82 Baptist Church in Paris.
Preceded in death by his parents, James Wesley and Jaunita Hailey; brother, Alvin Gene Hailey and a sister, Janie Maxine Wallace.
John is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Hailey, of Cooper; three sons, Zane Hailey, of Fairfield, James Hailey & wife, Laura, of Commerce and David Hailey, of Texas City; daughter, Kelly Goode & husband, James, of Greenville; nine grandchildren, Ashley Gillispie, Cassie Mendez, Amber Pearce, Adam Pearce, Trevor Williams, Wesley Hailey, Grayson Hailey, Robert Cogburn and April Justice and ten great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
