Funeral services for John Mitchell Williams, 75, of Yantis, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 13, 2017, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Rev. Mike Calhoun officiating. Military graveside service will follow at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point.
He passed away Friday afternoon, October 6, 2017, in Quitman.
John was born on February 16, 1942, in Beaumont, Texas, the son of Walter Clarence Williams and Lottie Marie Chandler Williams. He was raised in Corpus Christi, where he attended public school. John was a veteran of the United States Navy and the Army National Guard. He was formerly employed by Ingersoll Rand in Garland as a machinist, retiring in 2005. On November 4, 2011, he married Reba Evelyn in Dallas. John lived in Mesquite prior to moving to Yantis in July 2014. He enjoyed playing golf, hunting and building things. John was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Garland and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Clarence and Lottie Marie Williams and his twin sister, Marilyn Ann Vandal.
John is survived by his wife, Reba Evelyn Williams, of Yantis; three sons, Bryan Williams & wife, Carrie, of Round Rock, Aaron Williams, of Midlothian and Chad Williams and Gerri Chiles, of Wills Point; step-son, Tony Campbell & wife, Christina, of Gresham, Oregon; two daughters, Amy Fattig & husband, Steve, of Van and Lizzie Moody & husband, Thomas, of Wills Point; two step-daughters, Joanna Huff & husband, James, of Mesquite and Kim Pulice & husband, John, of West Virginia; two brothers, Jimmy Ray Williams & wife, Ann, of Cypress and Robert Williams & wife, Marti, of Mesquite; eighteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
