Obituary

Johnny W. Winkle, of Wills Point, Texas, passed away on March 16, 2025, at the age of 71. He was born on August 7, 1953, in Dallas, Texas, to John and Patsy Winkle.

Johnny honorably served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from September 1972 to August 1975. His service was a testament to his dedication and commitment.  He later joined the United States Post Office in Greenville for 23 years, retiring in 2009.

Beyond his military service, Johnny found joy in camping and spending time with his beloved dogs, Bella, Roxy, and Buddy. Most of all, he cherished time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Ann Winkle; his daughters, Misti Anderson and husband Bryan, Stephanie Delgado and husband Eduardo, Lacey Morrison, Alicia Winkle, Tonya Woolverton, and Sonya Shinn and husband Paul; his brother, Jerry Winkle and wife Debbie; and his sister, Patti Capps and husband Randy. Johnny was also blessed with 13 grandchildren—Mariah, Trevor, Braden, Jocelyn, Tyler, Alyssa, Carson, Cassie, Maddison, Julianne, Trey, Savanna, and Brianna—as well as six great-grandchildren—Haven, Raelynn, Camryn, Mylo, Grayson, and Jon.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Mullin-Fuller Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.

Johnny's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
