Joyce Lafaye Oldfield, age 89, of Canton, Texas, passed away on January 10, 2024. She was born on November 14, 1934, to Robert and Louise Ditto Dodson. Joyce was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Joyce was a generous, kind, and selfless woman. She had a strong yet soft-spoken nature, and her fun-loving spirit made her a joy to be around. Joyce had a natural ability to listen and was always there for those who needed her. She will be remembered for her unwavering strength and her unwavering love for her family.

Joyce had a successful career as a quality control supervisor at Texas Instruments in Richardson, Texas, where she dedicated 25 years of her life. She retired in 1993, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication.

In her free time, Joyce enjoyed taking care of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She cherished every moment spent with them and was a true Dallas Cowboys fan at heart. However, her love for Patrick Mahomes was unparalleled.

Joyce is survived by her sons, Robert Steven Oldfield and Lindy Morris and wife, Jessica Morris; her daughter, Sherri Oldfield; her brother, Donny Dodson and wife, Cindy; her grandchildren, Saxon Adams and wife Michaela Redding; and her great-grandchildren, Haven Morris, Lindyn Morris, and Jude Adams. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Louise Ditto Dodson; her husband, Grady Oldfield; son, Michael Floyd; brothers, Olen Dodson, John Wayne Dodson, and Leon Dodson; and her niece, Jennifer Dodson.

Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace. Joyce's life will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Mullin Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point, Texas. A visitation will be held one hour prior, starting at 10:00 AM.
