Obituary

Judy Ann Martin, (Stovall), a cherished and elegant soul, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026, in Wills Point, Texas. Born on May 1, 1941, in Terrell, Texas, Judy lived a life marked by love, generosity, and warmth that touched the hearts of all who knew her.

A proud 1958 graduate of Fort Towson High School in Fort Towson, Oklahoma, Judy went on to build a commendable career in retail management, where she served for several years. Her keen skills also extended into bookkeeping, demonstrating her versatile talents and dedication to her work.

Judy was known for her loving nature and her beauty, both inside and out, leaving an indelible mark of kindness and grace. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including gardening, feeding the fish off their pier, and nurturing a special love for butterflies—a passion famously reflected in her beloved bumper sticker that read, "I Brake for Butterflies."

Her Wednesday lunch dates with the girls at Dairy Queen were treasured moments, emblematic of the strong bonds she cultivated with friends. Before her illness, Judy was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Wills Point, where her faith played a central role in her life.

Judy's family was the cornerstone of her happiness. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Jennifer Hall and husband Skeeter, and Joni Simmons and husband Randy. She also leaves behind a brother, Don Stovall, and two sisters, Doris White and Cathy Stovall Elzner. Judy's legacy continues through her grandchildren—Sharon Hairell, Justin Hall, Matt Simmons, Cody Simmons, and Brandon Simmons—and her eleven great-grandchildren, each carrying forward the light she shared.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Martin, parents, Horace Willid and Ruby Mae Stovall and her sister, Edith Johnstone.

Judy Ann Martin's life was a testament to grace, devotion, and the quiet strength of a beautiful soul. Her memory will be cherished by all who were fortunate to know her, and her spirit will linger in the gardens she tended, the butterflies she adored, and the hearts she touched with enduring love.

A celebration to honor Ms. Judy Ann Martin will be held Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 11:00 at Radiant Church Van Zandt (Wills Point Campus) located at 555 Tawakoni Dr., Wills Point, Texas 75169.
