Obituary

Funeral services for Laquita Ann Kinney Hall, 72, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Calvary Baptist Church in Wills Point with Dr. Gene Lindsey officiating.  Interment will follow at Ellis Chapel Cemetery north of Wills Point.
She passed away Monday afternoon, April 9, 2018, at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Sunnyvale.
Laquita was born August 12, 1945, in Wills Point, Texas, the daughter of Farris Kinney and Ruby Bell Lay Kinney.  She was a lifelong resident of Wills Point and graduated from Wills Point High School in 1963.  On October 10, 1964, she married Chester Hall in Edgewood.  Laquita was formerly employed by the Wills Point I.S.D. as secretary for the high school principal, sold Tupperware and worked several years for Brookshire's in Wills Point and Canton, where she was an office cashier, retiring in 2012.  Choosing to stay active after retirement, she worked at Escape Tanning in Wills Point and was currently assisting with visitation services at Allan Fuller Funeral Home.  She loved reading her Bible and playing Sudoku.  Laquita had a special love for her family. For about the past six years, it was a standing date that each Wednesday night she would prepare a meal for the family, spend time together and play with her great-grandchildren.  She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports and watching baseball games.  Laquita was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Wills Point.
Preceded in death by her parents, Farris and Ruby Bell Kinney; three brothers, Hubert Kinney & wife, Mattie, Billy Ray Kinney & wife, Nelda and Glenn Kinney; sister, Irma Lee Kinney; father-in-law & mother-in-law, J.D. & Audra Hall and a brother-in-law, Troy Owens.
Laquita is survived by her husband, Chester Hall, of Wills Point; son, Steven Hall & wife, Tiffany, of Canton; daughter, Dena Simonek & husband, Gary, of Wills Point; brother, Dwayne Kinney & wife, Linda, of Poetry; sister, Gladys Owens, of Mineola; four grandchildren, Robbie Simonek & wife, Tember Simonek, Hunter Hall & wife, Kelsey, Jacob Hall and Cooper Hall and four great-grandchildren, Jaxon Simonek, Wyatt Hall, Kennedy Bell Simonek and Walker Hall.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
