Larry Bernard Henderson, born February 24, 1942, in Marietta, Ohio, passed away on August 29, 2026, in Tyler, Texas. He lived a long life shaped by steady work, deep faith, gentle strength, and devotion to the people he loved.

Larry was a graduate of Agua Fria High School, Class of 1960. He went on to attend Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in 1968. He later built a career with the United States Postal Service, serving as a Rural Route Carrier until his retirement in 2020. His working life reflected the qualities for which he was known so well: he was kind, faith-filled, friendly, and gentle.

Beyond his work, Larry found joy in the simple and lasting gifts of everyday life. He loved gardening, fishing, cooking, reading, and camping, and he especially treasured time with family. Those who knew him will remember a man whose warmth put others at ease and whose faith helped guide the way he lived. Among his many simple pleasures was shopping at Costco, where he enjoyed browsing the aisles, discovering new things, and making the most of every visit.

Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Melanie Henderson; his father, Jacob Bernard Henderson; and his mother, Helen Elizabeth Dye.

He is survived by a large and loving family who will carry his memory forward with gratitude and affection. He is survived by his sons Bernard Henderson and his wife Arianna, Larry Nathan Henderson and his wife Amenda, and Landon Bryant Henderson. He is also survived by his daughters Vanessa Renee Baker and her husband Rob, Amy Celeste Sierp, Amanda Rose Burke and her husband Brendan, and Lorna Celeste Manziel and her husband Nelson. In addition, he is survived by his bonus children Christi Cliborn and her husband Dennis, Clint Sawyer and his wife Christine, and Brittany Malcolm and her husband Wes.

Larry also leaves behind his grandchildren Zachary, Alyssa, Jordon, Ascher, Tristen, Jacob, Izaiah, Ana, TJ, and Jocelyn, along with his bonus grandchildren Rylie, Makynzie, PJ, Presley, Scarlett, Gabriel, and Adelaide. He is further survived by his brother Jay Henderson and his wife Cecilia, as well as his first wife, Helen Roseland Graves. The circle of his family was broad, and the love shared within it stands as part of his lasting legacy.

Visitation will be held on September 5, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Canton Church of Christ, 604 TX-243, Canton, Texas 75103. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Canton Church of Christ. A graveside service will take place at 12:30 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery, South Lamar Street, Edgewood, Texas 75117.
