Celebration of life for LaWanda Lyons, 62, of Wills Point, is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2016, at True Believers Baptist Church in Wills Point with Bishop Nathel Johnson officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.
She passed away Friday morning, November 18, 2016, at her residence in Wills Point.
LaWanda was born September 27, 1954, in Wills Point, the daughter of J.T. Lyons and Inez Williams Lyons. She was raised in Wills Point and graduated from Wills Point High School. She was a homemaker and enjoyed reading. LaWanda was a member of True Believers Baptist Church in Wills Point.
Preceded in death by her parents, J.T. & Inez Lyons; siblings, James Earl Lyons, Annie Ruth Summerfield, Gladys Myers, Betty Jean Lyons, David Lyons, Vera Mae Sanders and Horace Lyons and a granddaughter, Deja Lyons.
LaWanda is survived by a son, Rodney Lyons & wife, Karen, of DeSoto; four daughters, Sharita Lyons, of Wills Point, Paula Hardin, of Dallas, Robin Summerfield, of Dallas and Monica Tinney, of Kilgore; brother, Billy Lyons, of Mesquite; four sisters, Ira Nell Cunigan, of Wills Point, Erma Cunigan, of Wills Point, Carol Lyons, of Mesquite and Vanessa Lauderdale, of Wills Point; thirteen grandchildren, Antwon Jackson, Trevon Jackson, Brittany Hardin, Jalen Lyons, Dontre Wilson, Bobby Hardin, Sharae Holmes, Deja Lyons, Jacori Thomas, Sharain Rogers, Donovan Adkins, Devin Tinney and Paris Lofton; two great-grandchildren, D'Neko Wilson and Nyla Thomas and special nieces, Brandy Lyons and Tanisha Lyons.
