Funeral services for Leon Baker, 88, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 29, 2017, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Rev. Fred Cooper officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Wills Point.

He passed away early Monday morning, September 25, 2017, at his residence in Wills Point.

Leon was born September 3, 1929, in Wills Point, the son of Fred Baker and Bessie Greenway Baker. He was raised in Wills Point and attended Wills Point High School. On February 12, 1953, he married Selma Rose York in Wills Point. Leon was a self-employed cattle rancher. He enjoyed fishing, going to rodeos, garage sales and attending auctions. Leon was of the Baptist faith.

Preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Bessie Baker; son, David Baker; two brothers, Gene Baker and Richard Baker and three sisters, Dorothy Burleson, Christine Brockman and Vernell Daughtery.

Leon is survived by his wife, Selma Baker, of Wills Point; son, Thomas Leon Baker & wife, Jan, of Edgewood; daughter, Katie Rose Baker, of Wills Point; daughter-in-law, Carol Baker, of Wills Point; brother, Derrell Baker & wife, Eleta, of Wills Point; sister, Bea Turner & husband, Jim, of Wills Point; six grandchildren, Bobbie Lea Baker, of Wills Point, Jennifer Seale, of Edgewood, Shane Hulse, of Myrtle Springs, Steve Hulse, of Wills Point, Diana Hulse, of Myrtle Springs and Mark Hulse, of Wills Point six great-grandchildren, Emily Garner, Brian Hulse, Hayden Hulse, Crystal Hulse, Johnathan Hulse and Alex Hulse; one great-great granddaughter, Hensley Hulse; nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
