Lidia
Vazquez
June 7, 1961 – December 21, 2025
Lidia Vazquez, (Vargas), passed away peacefully on December 21, 2025, in Edgewood, Texas, at the age of 64. Born on June 7, 1961, in Guanajuato, Mexico, Lidia lived a life rooted in faith, family, and a deep connection to the earth she so lovingly nurtured.
Lidia was the beloved wife of Pedro Vazquez. The couple married in January 1986 and shared nearly four decades of love and partnership. Together they built a home filled with warmth and devotion, first in Mexico where Lidia was born and raised, and later in Edgewood, Texas, where they made their home for the past 23 years.
She was a devoted mother to her daughters Lily Vazquez and Kely Vazquez. Her love extended deeply to her grandchildren—Franco, Christopher, Dallison, Kimberlee, Sebastian, Nova, Luna, Milo, and Raylee—each of whom brought immense joy to her life. Lidia also shared a close bond with her sisters Rosa Vargas and Estella Vargas.
Lidia worked at a plant farm where her natural talents flourished. She had an extraordinary green thumb and found great joy in both vegetable and flower gardening. Her passion for nurturing life from the soil was matched only by her love for potting plants—a hobby that reflected her patience and care.
A woman of deep Catholic faith, Lidia found comfort and strength through prayer. Her spirituality was a guiding light throughout her life and an enduring source of peace for those who knew her.
Beyond her work and faith, Lidia embraced life with vibrant energy. She loved singing and dancing—expressions of joy that lit up any room she entered. Known for her glamorous style, she especially adored wearing high heels that matched her spirited personality.
Lidia was predeceased by her parents, Celerino Vargas and Juana Sanchez. Their memory lived on through the values they instilled in their daughter—values she carried forward with grace.
Her legacy is one of beauty—in the gardens she tended so lovingly; in the songs she sang with heart; in the prayers she offered with devotion; and most profoundly in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
May her memory bring comfort to all who loved her. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7 at Mullin-Fuller Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 8 at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Wills Point.
