Lila Brackeen
Beasley
August 27, 1931 – November 29, 2023
Lila Brackeen Beasley, age 92, passed away on November 29, 2023, in Dallas, Texas. She was born on August 27, 1931, in Wills Point, Texas, to the late Simon Buck Brackeen and Vera Allan Henry. Lila was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends.
Lila was known for her loving nature, thoughtful demeanor, and infectious sense of humor. Her presence brought warmth and joy to those around her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Lila attended Wills Point High School, where she graduated with the Class of 1949. She later pursued her passion for cosmetology and graduated from Dallas Cosmetology in 1950. Lila dedicated her career to the artistry of hair care, working at Cinderella Beauty Salon for 25 years. Eventually, she established her own home salon in Wills Point, where she served her loyal clients for 35 years before retiring in 2004.
Outside of her professional life, Lila found solace in her faith and took comfort in her membership at the Church of Christ. She held these beliefs close to her heart and found strength in her spiritual journey.
In her leisure time, Lila enjoyed pursuing her varied hobbies. She had a passion for cooking and delighted in preparing delicious meals for her loved ones. Lila also had a green thumb and spent countless hours tending to her beloved garden, creating a picturesque oasis. In addition to her culinary and gardening skills, she had a fondness for golf and enjoyed the thrill of dirt track racing, cheering on her favorite drivers. She had a great love for cheering on little Eric when playing football.
Lila was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Beasley, mother Vera Allan Henry, father Simon Buck Brackeen, and sister Dorothy Brackeen Smelker. Her memory will be cherished by her surviving family: daughter Tammy Deaver and husband Lynn, grandson Eric Dickerson and wife Jericka, and great grandson Eric Dickerson Jr.
A service to honor and celebrate Lila's life will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, at the respected Mullin-Fuller Funeral Home, located at 205 Corky Boyd Ave., Wills Point, Texas 75169.
