Funeral services for Lila J. Moore, 87, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Bro. Billy Smith officiating. Interment will follow Union Grove Cemetery north of Wills Point.
She passed away early Saturday morning, March 14, 2015, in Tyler.
Lila was born on July 10, 1927, in Naples, Texas, the daughter of John Adolfus Perry and Lavanda Irene Cannon Perry. She was raised in Naples and Omaha. On April 29, 1945, she married J. T. Moore in Naples. Lila lived in Lavon prior to moving to Wills Point in 1960. She was employed at Lorna Fashions in Grand Saline as an inspector, retiring in 1985. She enjoyed embroidering, cooking, singing and fishing. Lila was a member of Elwood Baptist Church north of Wills Point, where she was formerly involved with church activities.
Preceded in death by her parents, John & Irene Perry; husband, J. T. Moore on June 26, 1998; two daughters, Mary Hill in 1997 and Pat Farthing in 2010; son, Thomas Moore in 1968; brother, Earl Perry; three sisters, Pauline Upton, Inez Calhoun and Era Ritchie and two sons-in-law, Johnny Hill and Bobby Hooks.
Lila is survived by two daughters, Margaret Carter & husband, Marvin Jr. "Sonny", of Ozark, Alabama and Paula Beasley Hooks, of Wills Point; son-in-law, Curtis Farthing, of Wills Point; four grandchildren, Blair Newberry & husband, Bobby, of Canton, Jerry Hill, of Wills Point, Tina Wade & husband, Rodney, of Mineola and Cheryl Wood & husband, Greg, of Mineola; five great-grandchildren, Alexis Newberry, John York, Matthew York, Thomas Wade and Amanda Hill and five great-great grandchildren.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
