Linda Mae
Harris
April 12, 1930 – October 25, 2025
Linda Mae Harris, born Linda Mae Neill on April 12, 1930, passed away peacefully at home on her family farm in the Cedar Grove Community on October 25, 2025, at the age of 95.
Linda was a woman of deep faith and vibrant spirit. A lifelong member of the Church of Christ at Able Springs, her devotion to her beliefs was evident in every aspect of her life. She found great joy in music—especially hymns—and shared that joy with others through her talents as a musician. Linda played the fiddle with heartfelt passion and skill, often accompanied by her daughters as they sang hymns together. Her love for music was not just a pastime but a cherished way to connect with those around her and express her enduring faith.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Manuel Lee Harris; her parents, Henry Benjamin and Girthie Lindhorst Neill; sisters Monte Lavon Neill and Annie Sue Hair; brothers George Henry "Bud" Neill and Fred William "Ike" Neill; and great-grandchild Carl Hilsabeck.
Linda's legacy lives on through her devoted family: daughters Shirley Lavon Kale and husband John; Beverly Virginia Groessel; Elizabeth Lee Stromberg and husband Chris; son Gary Neill Harris and wife Janice. She was a proud grandmother to Carolyn Hilsabeck, Shelia Spicer, Cheryl Marshall, Linda Groessel, Audra Groessel, Teresa Letsche, Melonie Baker, and Lee Wallace. Her family continued to grow with ten great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly.
Those who knew Linda will remember her as loving and kind-hearted yet spirited and strong-willed—a woman whose warmth was matched by her determination. Her musical gifts brought comfort and joy to many, while her unwavering love for family created bonds that spanned generations.
May Linda's memory bring peace to all who were touched by her life.
