Lorriane Mae Goodwin, age 85, was born on January 6, 1938, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, and passed away in her home surrounded by loved ones on December 12, 2023, in Wills Point, Texas.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her father John Walker Nielsen, mother Alice Nielsen, and her husband James Goodwin. She is preceded in life by her brother Warren Walker Nielsen and his children, Kandice Foley and Evan Nielsen, daughter Carol Bynum and husband John, daughter Cindy Grix and husband Tim, grandson Timmy Grix and wife Heather, granddaughter Jamie Taylor and husband Cameron, granddaughter Lori Allen and husband Tyler, grandson Craig Grix and wife Alexis, grandson Trent Bynum and wife Mara, grandson Connor Bynum and wife Melissa. She is also preceded by her numerous great-grandchildren TJ, Jett, Tyler, Grant, Emma, Kamron, Isaiah, Cayleigh, Abigail, Jameson, Ivy, Crista, Brooks, Wesley, Emelia, and many other family members who cared for her dearly.
The best way to describe Lorraine was strong, brave, daring, kindhearted, stubborn, and independent. She lived through several things such as being a breast cancer survivor, being struck by lightning twice, going through hurricanes, the destruction of a tornado, and having brain surgery. She did not back down despite the numerous hardships she endured in her lifetime.
She enjoyed traveling, camping, trips to the casino, gardening, cooking, spending time with her animals, reading, the color purple, sewing, and crafting. She was also an extremely competitive card player and enjoyed nothing more than making memories with her family.
Lorraine was a vibrant woman filled with compassion and wisdom which will continuously pass from generation to generation. She lived an eventful life with countless stories to tell. Lorraine was caring mom, sister, grandma, and great-grandma who truly enjoyed the time she spent watching her family grow and memories together.
