Margaret Louise
Armstrong
October 22, 1946 – December 27, 2025
Margaret Louise Armstrong (Samples), age 79, passed away on December 27, 2025, in Rowlett, Texas. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Margaret's life was marked by her unwavering love for family, her strong work ethic, and her spirited nature.
Born on October 22, 1946, in Terrell, Texas, Margaret was the daughter of David Samples, Sr. and Della Pauline Samples. She was raised in nearby Elmo, Texas, where she developed a deep appreciation for nature and community—values that would remain central throughout her life. She graduated with the class of 1964 from Terrell High School.
On January 26, 1966, Margaret married Larry Armstrong in Terrell, beginning a union that would span nearly six decades. Together they built a loving home and raised two sons: Keith Armstrong and his wife Stephanie, and Chris Armstrong and his wife Kim. Margaret took immense pride in her family and found great joy in being a grandmother to Jaelyn and Ava.
Margaret dedicated much of her professional life to serving others through her work at Terrell State Hospital in insurance claims and billing. Her diligence and commitment were evident throughout her career until she retired in 2004.
A woman of the Baptist faith, Margaret lived out her beliefs through acts of kindness and care for those around her. She had a special gift for nurturing—whether it was tending to her vibrant flower beds or feeding the birds and squirrels that visited her yard daily. Gardening brought her great satisfaction; she especially enjoyed growing tomatoes and onions which she generously shared with others.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother, David Samples, Jr., whose memories she carried close to her heart.
A funeral service honoring Margaret's life will be held at Elmo Cemetery in Elmo, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Margaret's name to Elmo Cemetery.
Her memory will live on through the lives she touched with love and generosity. May those who knew her find comfort in remembering the warmth she brought into their lives. A Visitation will be held on January 1, 2026, from 05:00 PM to 07:00 PM at Mullin-Fuller Funeral Home 205 Corky Boyd Ave, Wills Point.
