Marvin Glenn Foster, age 80, of Edgewood, Texas, passed away on January 24, 2024. He was born on August 30, 1943, in Edgewood, Texas. Marvin was a loving husband, devoted father, and a wonderful grandfather.

Marvin joined the United States Army in October of 1960 and was stationed in Germany, where he found the love of his life, Gerdi. They married in September of 1963, and in September of 2023, they celebrated their 60th diamond anniversary. After 30 years in Germany, they moved back to Edgewood to retire.

He had a successful career as a Supervisor for the City of Newport News Virginia where he retired in 2003.

Marvin enjoyed bulldozer work, hunting, fishing, playing soccer, boating, and spending time with his grandchildren. He worshipped at Christian Faith.

He is survived by his wife Gerdi Foster, daughters Silka Aaron and husband Rick of Edgewood, Tanja Merliss and husband William of Edgewood, Stefanie Staneart of Edgewood, brother Loyd Foster and wife Susan of Kaufman, four grandchildren: Daniel Smith, James Foster, Brianna Smith, and Ron McElhose, Jr., as well as seven great-grandchildren: Carmen Smith, Mason Smith, Jacob Smith, Clay Foster, Chloe Foster, Kailey Foster, and Emileigh McElhose, along with many nieces and nephews.

Marvin was preceded in death by his father John Foster, mother Audrey Reed Foster, and five brothers: Ray Foster, Jimmy Foster, Mack Foster, Doug Foster, and Larry Foster.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. with visitation held two hours prior beginning at 12:00 p.m. at Mullin-Fuller Funeral Home, located at 205 Corky Boyd Avenue, Wills Point, Texas.
