Mary Vesta Nealy Hawkins, of Greenville, Texas went to be with the Lord on Thursday July 22, 2021, in her home, surrounded by her family.

Mary was born on September 3, 1937, to the late William and Bernice Nealy in Kaufman County. Mary graduated Terrell High School in 1956 then went to A&M Commerce where she received her master's degree in education. On June 28, 1958, Mary married the love of her life Roy Gene Hawkins at Campground in Poetry, Texas. They shared 63 years of marriage together sharing many memories and raising 3 children. Mary and Gene held their membership at Highland Terrace Baptist Church of Greenville. She retired from Wolfe City ISD in 1992. After retirement she enjoyed making crafts, sewing and baking for family.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents.

All are welcome to celebrate the life of Mary on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at Highland Terrace Baptist Church of Greenville, Texas. Family will be receiving guests from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. for visitation. Life Celebration Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Mary will be laid to rest at Campground cemetery at a later date.
