Mary Carolyn Lazard, 79, passed away on July 5, 2025, in Terrell, Texas. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication that touched the lives of all who knew her.

Born on March 15, 1946, in Whitesboro, Texas, Carolyn was raised in Sherman and attended Sherman High School. In 1962, she married Ronald Lazard, beginning a union that would span nearly five decades until his passing in 2010. Together they built a life rooted in family and community.

Carolyn made her home in the East Texas area beginning in 1968 and remained there throughout her life. She worked diligently in the cafeteria services for both Kemp and Mabank Independent School Districts. Her work reflected her nurturing spirit and commitment to serving others—qualities that defined her both professionally and personally.

Carolyn was known for her honesty, compassion, and unwavering care for those around her. She found immense joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. These moments brought light to her days and created cherished memories for generations of her family.

She is lovingly remembered by her sons Ron Douglas Lazard & Tonda Law and Jacques & Amber Lazard; grandchildren Jessica Patterson, Jacob Turner, Dustin Turner, Christina Lazard, Riley Lazard, Harleigh Prather and Fiancé Cole Burge, and Addison Prather Lemley & Ethan Lemley; as well as a host of great-grandchildren who brought endless joy to her life.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ronald Lazard; parents Lawrence D. Watson and Sylvia Agee Watson; brother Larry Watson; sister Beverly Ann Johnson; and several extended family members whose memories she carried with grace.

A graveside service is scheduled for tomorrow at 10:00 A.M. at Butters Cemetery in Forrest Hill, Louisiana and are being handled by White Oak Funeral Home in Forest Hill, Louisiana.
