Mary Ann
Perdue
July 15, 1957 – May 2, 2025
Mary Ann Thompson Perdue, of Wills Point, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2025, in Tyler, Texas, at the age of 67. Born on July 15, 1957, in Ironton, Ohio, she lived a life marked by devotion to her family, a generous spirit, and a passion for the simple joys that brought people together.
Mary began her journey as a devoted stay-at-home mother, dedicating herself wholeheartedly to raising her children and creating a warm and loving home. Later in life, she channeled her creativity and entrepreneurial spirit into opening her own gift shop, "Mary's Gifts," where she shared her eye for beauty and thoughtful giving with the community. Her shop became not only a place of business but also a reflection of her heart—filled with charm, warmth, and personal touches that made every visitor feel welcome.
She was deeply rooted in her Christian faith and lived out its values through acts of kindness and compassion. Mary had an extraordinary ability to make others feel loved and cared for.
Mary found great joy in thrift shopping and "garage saling"—always on the hunt for hidden treasures. She especially delighted in collecting decorative plates and vintage Dr. Seuss books, which brought whimsy and nostalgia into her home. But above all else, Mary cherished time spent with her grandchildren. Their laughter filled her heart with happiness, and she embraced every moment with them as precious.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband Jackie Perdue; son William Perdue; daughters Stacey Allen (Ricky) and Tanya Hathcock (James); grandchildren Ceara LaFrance (Justin), Haley Stewart, Alyssa Allen, Maitlynn Perdue, Case Perdue, and Lexi Allen; great-grandchildren Kendall, Lachlyn, Maverick, Adalyn, Saylor, and Braden; nieces Kacey Perdue and Opal Perdue—whom she loved as if they were her own children; great-nephew Justin Seat; and special friend Emily Willingham.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents Ott Thompson and Ruby Armstrong Thompson; eight brothers; and two sisters.
Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched—with love that endures across generations. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her.
