Funeral services for MaryLou Gift, 81, of Tyler, formerly of Wills Point, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 7, 2017, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bro Dennis Ivy officiating. Interment will follow at Bright Star Cemetery north of Wills Point under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.
She passed away Wednesday morning, August 2, 2017, in Tyler.
MaryLou was born November 3, 1935, in Liberal, Kansas, the daughter of Walter Charles Ross and Mary Leola Bennett Ross. She was raised in Liberal and graduated from Liberal High School in 1953. On December 27, 1953, she married Floyd Dale Gift in Liberal. Prior to moving to Wills Point in 1977, she lived in Garden City, Kansas and Logan, Kansas. She was a homemaker and in her spare time, she enjoyed quilting, genealogy, traveling and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. MaryLou was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Wills Point.
Preceded in death by her parents, Walter Charles and Mary Leola Ross; husband, Floyd Dale Gift, Sr. on August 13, 2006 and two brothers, Wayne Ross and Glen Eldon Ross.
MaryLou is survived by four sons, Paul Gift & wife, Sheila, of Holyoke, Colorado, Floyd Gift, Jr. and the late Kate Sumner, of Holyoke, Colorado, Charles Richard Gift & wife, Carolyn, of Terrell and Mark Alan Gift & wife, Kristi, of Wills Point; Three daughters, Vickie Bowyer, of Wichita, Kansas, Janice Aoyama & husband, Kory, of Plano and Jenifer White & husband, Mitchell, of Indianapolis, Indiana; twenty eight grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.
