Melinda Lou Ann Maxwell Hobbs, born on April 3, 1961, in Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home in Canton, Texas, on January 11, 2025.
A graduate of Canton High School's Class of 1979, Melinda pursued her passion for helping others by earning her Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification from ATI in 2003. She worked with dedication and compassion at Dr. Dailey's office in Canton, where she touched the lives of many patients and colleagues alike.
In 1979, Melinda married the love of her life, Gary R. Hobbs. They shared a beautiful life together until his passing in 2015. Melinda was known for her loving and selfless nature, always putting others before herself. Her gentle spirit and thoughtfulness left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Melinda found joy in cooking, baking, and sewing—activities that reflected her creativity and care for those around her. Her family was the center of her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
She is survived by her son Garrison Hobbs and his wife Miranda; her daughter Brittany Hobbs Schomer and her husband Rick; her brother Tracy Maxwell; her sister Sheri Lovvorn; and her beloved grandchildren Greyson Hobbs, Melody Gardner, Vivien Gardner, and Owen Schomer. She was preceded in death by her husband Gary R. Hobbs; her parents Ed Maxwell and Margaret Nesbitt; and her brother Stacy Maxwell.
A visitation is scheduled for Friday, January 17, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mullin-Fuller Funeral Home located at 205 Corky Boyd Ave. in Wills Point, Tx. A funeral service to celebrate Melinda's life is scheduled for Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 10 a.m. also held at Mullin-Fuller Funeral Home. Interment will follow the funeral service at Creagleville Cemetery in Grand Saline, Tx.
Melinda's warmth and kindness will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those she leaves behind.
