Born in Wills Point, TX on May 24, 1925
Departed on May 20, 2015 and resided in Weatherford, TX.
Funeral services for Melvin Davis Bush, 89, of Weatherford, formerly of Wills Point, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2015, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Pastor John Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Cana Cemetery near Wills Point.
He passed away Wednesday morning, May 20, 2015, in Weatherford.
Melvin was born on May 24, 1925, in Wills Point, the son of Wade Davis Bush and Bessie Chandler Bush. He was raised in Wills Point where he attended public school. Melvin was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during World War II. On October 9, 1942, he married Wylma Aileen Anthony in Kingsville. He retired from Terrell State Hospital. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Melvin was a member of Cana Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by his parents, Wade Davis Bush and Bessie Bush Parks; wife, Wylma Aileen Bush on March 8, 2002 and a sister, Margaret Cockerell.
Melvin is survived by two sons, David Bush & wife, Brenda, of Edgewood and Dale Bush & wife, Merrietta, of Farmers Branch; three daughters, Sherry Key, of Terrell, Martha Horsman & husband, Rand, of Weatherford and Ann Richey & husband, James of Johnson City; sister, Colleen Bonner, of Forney; twelve grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday morning one hour prior to service.
