Molly Brittain, 91, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2025. Born on January 31, 1934, in Plainview, Texas, she lived a full and vibrant life marked by her deep love for family, her passion for tennis and animals, and her enduring commitment to community.
Molly was the daughter of William and Marian Shepard and grew up alongside her sister, Sara Shepard. She later married Leon Brittain, with whom she shared many cherished years before his passing.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Molly is survived by her two sons: Bill Brittain and his wife Coral; and Brad Brittain and his wife Penny. Her legacy continues through her beloved granddaughters, Megan and Miranda. Her sister-in-law Betty Martin. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews Todd and Mary; Holly, Stacy, Lou, Brett, Heather and Dawn.
Molly's life was filled with energy and enthusiasm. She along with the "Golden Girls", Carolyn Hawkins, Francine Hiler, Doris Madden, and Judy Dodd, were all highly active individuals who engaged in the sport that created numerous cherished memories for them. A lifelong tennis enthusiast, she not only played the sport with passion but also coached many others over the years. Her dedication to the game led her to found the WP Tennis Association—a testament to her leadership and love for athletics.
Her interests extended beyond the court. Molly was an active member of the Methodist Women's Group and participated in the Riding and Roping Club. She found joy in working outdoors—whether tending to her yard or spending time with her horses and Bill's dogs: Daisy, Lily, and Jasmine.
Molly was a woman of faith who attended Russell Memorial Methodist Church in Wills Point. Her involvement in church life reflected her values of service, fellowship, and spiritual grounding.
Throughout her life, Molly remained active, engaged, and deeply connected to those around her. Her warmth touched many lives across generations—from family members to fellow athletes to members of her church community.
May Molly Brittain's memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her. A Visitation will be held on Saturday June 28, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Mullin Fuller Funeral Home Chapel 205 Corky Boyd Ave. Wills Point, Texas 75169. Graveside service will be held at College Mound Methodist Church at 12:00 PM (Noon).
