Memorial service for O.D. McDonald, 82, of Terrell, is scheduled for 2:15 p.m. Friday, June 16, 2017, at the Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.
He passed away Sunday morning, May 21, 2017, in Sunnyvale.
O.D. was born January 1, 1935, in Jasper, Alabama, the son of Dudley McDonald and Christine Kemp McDonald. He was raised in Coal Valley, Alabama and graduated from Oakman High School in Alabama. O.D. was a veteran of the United States Navy. He served from November 13, 1953 until 13, 1957, having served in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. On June 26, 1993, he married Becky Easterwood in Garland. O.D. was formerly employed by Oil Well Supply in Garland for twenty-eight years and was a truck driver for Future Telecom in Balch Springs, retiring in 2002. He enjoyed fishing, playing poker and spending time with his grandchildren. O.D. lived in Wills Point for ten years prior to moving to Terrell five years ago.
Preceded in death by his parents, Dudley and Christine McDonald; sister, Patricia McDonald and a brother, Rayburn McDonald.
O.D. is survived by his wife, Becky McDonald, of Terrell; two sons, Odis Dale McDonald, of Texas and Michael A. McDonald, of Seagoville; three step-sons, Doyle Anderson, of Dallas, Mark Hall & wife, Teresa, of Garland and Skeeter Hall & wife, Jennifer, of Wills Point; two daughters, Judy Kay Archibald & husband, Phillip, of Pagosa Springs, Colorado and April Kay Bennett & husband, William, of Pittsburgh, Texas; step-daughter, Jeri Forsythe & husband, James, of Dallas; brother, Alton Lee McDonald, of Jasper, Alabama; fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
