Funeral services for Oggie Davis, 56, of Kemp, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 28, 2017, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Bro. Ronnie Polley officiating.
He passed away Saturday afternoon, September 23, 2017, in a Dallas hospital.
Oggie was born October 15, 1960, in Dallas, Texas, the son of Lonnie Carl Davis, Sr. and Meda Ruby Winchester Davis. He was raised in Canton and attended Canton High School. On October 8, 1981, he married Amy Kay Maynard in Canton. Oggie was formerly employed by Premier Construction in Wills Point and was self-employed as a carpenter and mechanic in the Van Zandt County area. He lived in Myrtle Springs prior to moving to Kemp three years ago. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, going to church and spending time with his grandchildren. Oggie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lively.
Preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Meda Davis; five brothers, William Davis, Bunk Davis, Carl Davis, David Lee Davis and Allen Davis and a sister, Rita Davis.
Oggie is survived by his wife, Amy Davis, of Kemp; two sons, Brian Davis & wife, Brittany, of New York and Zack Davis and Amber Smith, of Myrtle Springs; daughter, Bailey Davis and Jeremy Schultz, of Kemp; brother, Rick Davis, of Burnett; three grandchildren, Haiden Davis, Tyler Schultz and Luke Schultz; step-granddaughter, Traelie Hanson; mother-in-law, Barbara Maynard, of Kemp; nieces & nephews.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
