Otis Gifford Tharp, 74, of Grand Prairie, Texas, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021, in Arlington.

Otis was born on May 13, 1947, in a log cabin in Byars, Oklahoma, to the late Leroy and Lorene Tharp. He was raised in Grand Prairie. Living in Wills Point most of his adult life. He was married to Lupe McCoy for five years. Otis worked for Wills Point ISD, OK Video and 24 Hour Market in which were all of Wills Point. He enjoyed coaching softball with his grandchildren. Attending all of their activities, collecting coins and going to church.

Otis is preceded in death by his parents, sister Lavell Tharp Bennett, brothers O.Leroy Tharp and William Glenn Tharp and grandson Kevan Brown.

Otis is survived by his sons, Otis Kirk Tharp and wife Tammy of Midlothian and Dewayne Pitts and wife Crystal of Wagner, OK; daughter Patricia Maria Tharp Brown and husband Joshua of Alvarado; sisters, Ruanne Miller of Wheatland, Wyoming, Katy Olive Tharp Liebreich and husband John of Forney and Barbara Tharp McBride of Wills Point; grandchildren, Kirsten, Ashley, Tristen, Ashlyn, Brittany (Dolores), Tiffany, Jacob, Corey, Dylan, Dustin, and Destiny; 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews all that loved him.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 1, 2021, from 5pm to 7pm at Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point, Texas. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 2, 2021, at 10am at Allan Fuller Funeral Home. Burial will follow at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point, Texas.
