Funeral services for Peggy Jean Allen, 76, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Mr. Ken Maddox officiating. Interment will follow at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point.
She passed away Saturday night, August 19, 2017, in Canton.
Peggy was born June 12, 1941, in Bonham, Texas, the daughter of Alvin Ward and Ruth Stevenson Ward. She was raised in Bonham and graduated from Bonham High School. She later attended Trinity Valley Community College in Terrell. On August 11, 1961, she married Fred Allen in Elmo. Peggy was formerly employed by Crestwood Nursing Home in Wills Point and retired from Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Canton in 2011. Prior to moving to Wills Point in 1972, she lived in Mesquite. She enjoyed reading books, planting flowers and going to casinos. Peggy was a member of the Church of Christ.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred Allen on August 28, 1996; two brothers-in-law, Gordon Allen and Lindell Brown and two sons-in-law, Joe Wheeler and Dewey Boyd.
Peggy is survived by two sons, Jeff Fulp & wife, Sue, of Stratford, Oklahoma and Greg Allen & wife, Cindy, of Myrtle Springs; two daughters, Debbie Wheeler and Michael Covey, of Wills Point and Angela Massey & husband, Todd, of Quinlan; sister, Genola Brown, of Bonham; sister-in-law, Novell Allen, of Grand Saline; eleven grandchildren, Kevy Cook, Ashley Fulp, Caylee Fulp, Amber Reyes, Damon Allen, Joe Wheeler, Trey Burns, Breanna Fouse, Ashlynn Smith, Tori Massey and Autumn Massey and ten great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
