Peggy Jean Hampton, 93, of Terrell, Texas went to Heaven on Saturday, September 3, 2022, in Rowlett, Texas.

Peggy was born on April 17, 1929, in Sulphur Springs, Texas to the late Hurley and Cora Richey. She was born into a large family of 11 children, Peggy was raised "right" by loving Christian parents who instilled in her the desire to be independent and know the satisfaction of a job well done. She never feared hard work and took great pride in all her endeavors. A "country girl" at heart, she was happiest in a rural setting-gardening and tending to her chickens, watching the squirrels, and listening to the birds from her deck, as well as fixing some of the best down-home cooked meals some people would envy. She will be dearly missed but her life will be remembered and cherished by those with whom she shared her wit, her wisdom, and her love.

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents and her son Hanford Lynn Martin.

Peggy leaves behind her children Deedra Bowden and Marsha Rogers; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Friday, September 9, 2022, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. as visitation. Graveside services will follow directly at Elmo Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at mullinfullerfuneralhome.com.
