Funeral services for Pete Lovvorn, 77 of Wills Point, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2016, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Bro. Bill Polley and Bro. Jimmy Jarrett officiating. Interment will follow at Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton.
He passed away early Thursday morning, August 25, 2016, at his residence in Wills Point surrounded by his family.
Pete was born on September 3, 1938, in Wills Point, the son of Ervin Elzie Lovvorn and Janie Lee Martin Lovvorn. He was a lifelong resident of Wills Point. Pete was a self-employed rancher most of his life. He was well known in the cattle business and enjoyed taking care of his cattle daily. On March 24, 1970, he married Patty Snyder in Canton. Pete enjoyed coon hunting. He was a member of the UKC, American Coon Hunting Association. He loved raising and trading his dogs with other hunters. He also enjoyed riding in rodeos, hog hunting and noodling when he was younger. Pete attended Elwood Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Janie Lovvorn; son, Richard Lovvorn on April 18, 2003; grandson, B.J. Lovvorn on March 1, 2007; brother, Brit Lovvorn on October 13, 2010; and a granddaughter, Cheyenne Nicole Ramirez on October 4, 2011.
Pete is survived by his wife, Patty Lovvorn, of Wills Point; three sons, Ricky Lovvorn & wife, Vivian, of Edgewood, Robert Lovvorn & wife, Sandy, of Wills Point and Frank Lovvorn, of Quinlan; three daughters, Sharon Slemmons & Bill Knue, of Quinlan, Patti Ann Wilbourn, of Wills Point and Jana Titsworth & husband, Billy, of Wills Point; eighteen grandchildren, Amanda White, Colten Lovvorn, Josh Christian, Tera Bell, Justin Lovvorn, Daniel Wrysinski, Michael Slemmons, Amber Slemmons, Sherry Gipson, Jeramy Slemmons, Wesley R. Land, Matthew Land, McKenzie Titsworth, Kutter Titsworth, Phillip Lovvorn, Mason Rosson, Jacob Lovvorn and Graham King and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
