Graveside services for Philip Francis Tarvis, 76, of Wills Point are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday morning, January 8, 2015, at Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery and Funeral Mass will follow at 1:00 p.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church in Wills Point with Rev. Patrick Fenton officiating under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.

He passed away Friday night, January 2, 2015, in Dallas.

Philip was born July 29, 1938 in Marlboro, Massachusetts, the son of Clarence R. Tarves and Miriam Wirtz Tarves. He was raised in Marlboro and graduated from Hudson High School. Philip was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was employed by Job Corp. in McKinney for thirty years as a director and for ten years was in private security. Philip lived in DeSoto prior to moving to Wills Point in 2009. He enjoyed working around the church and watching the Dallas Cowboys. Philip belonged to the Men's Club at St. Luke Catholic Church in Wills Point where he was a member.

Preceded in death by his parents; twin sister, Phyllis Tarves in 1986; sister, Rosalin Reifowitz in 2006 and a brother, Marvin Moses Tarves in 2012.

Philip is survived by four sons, Jeffrey Tarvis & wife, Teresa, of Durant, Oklahoma, Gregory Tarvis, of Winter Haven, Florida, Mark Tarvis & wife, Heather, of Rockwall and Donald Nolen & wife, Vicki, of Mineola; two daughters, Lisa Nolen, of Wills Point and Cheryl Nolen, of Wills Point; brother, John Tarves, of Dallas; nine grandchildren, Joseph Tarvis, Kynli Tarvis, Jeffery Tarvis, Jr., Mary Beth Tarvis, Hollis Tarvis, Donald Nolen, Jr., Jeremy Tarves, Crystal Summers and Jennifer Tarves and five great-grandchildren, Kathern Summers, Lily Summers, Morgan Summers, Zane Tarvis and Dakota Tarvis and long-time friend, Neita Nolen, of Wills Point.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
