Funeral services for Preston "Curly" Mott, 81, of Terrell, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 21, 2017, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Rev. Mike Thomas, Mark Anderson and Ed Waynick officiating. Interment will follow at Union Grove Cemetery north of Wills Point.

Preston transitioned from his life and embraced the arms of Jesus at 7:28 p.m. on Sunday, December 17, 2017, at Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas.

Preston was born on December 30, 1935 in Wills Point the son of Albert Clinton Mott and Josie Teel Mott. He accepted the Lord into his life in 1951 and was a member of the Baptist Church. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1955, where he met his beloved Mary. They married on December 20, 1962. Preston retired from the United States Marine Corps in 1974. During his service, he served three tours in the Vietnam War. Preston was a graduate from Henderson County Junior College where he received an Associates Degree in Accounting. He worked at Terrell State Hospital for twenty-three years, where he served as the property clerk. He also worked for B&B Security Company for fifteen years. He was a member of Pop-a-smoke Combat Helicopter Association, Vietnam Vets, Marine Corp Heritage Society, life time member of the Terrell Rifle and Pistol Club, National Rifle Association and Texas State Rifle Association.

Preceded in death by his parents, Albert Clinton and Josie Mott and a great-grandson, Jason Wyatt Mott 1-31-2012/4-21-2012.

Preston is survived by his wife, Mary Mott, of fifty-five years; son, Clint Mott & wife, Lourdes; six grandchildren, Brandon & wife, Casey, Matthew, Vanessa & husband, David, Jesse, Dylan, and Lisa; seven great-grandchildren, Brookelynn, Avery, Bridget, Abby, Bella, Zylee and Kameron; sister, Dimple Thomas and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
