Rhonda Kay Darley

Rhonda Kay Darley, (Bryan), passed away on August 17, 2026, in Edgewood, Texas, at the age of 70. Rhonda was born on January 31, 1956, and throughout her life, she radiated kindness, creativity, and a deep faith that touched all who knew her.

A graduate of Skyline High School, Class of 1974, Rhonda remained close to her roots in Dallas before moving to Edgewood Texas about 25 years ago, where she built a life filled with both devotion to family and dedication to her passions. Her professional journey was marked by her skillful hands and warm spirit, finding fulfillment as a Texas Licensed Barber. She was a familiar and cherished presence at booths during First Monday Trades Day and at various markets around Dallas.

Rhonda’s innate creativity found joyful expression in her flower gardening and numerous arts and crafts projects. Her home was a testament to her talent and imagination, always adorned with vibrant flowers and handmade treasures. She also had a lifelong affection for cats, who provided her with comfort and companionship.

Guided by a steadfast faith, Rhonda was a loving member of the Brightstar Baptist Church in Wills Point. She was active in the Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC), supported the outreach of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, and often drew inspiration watching Joel Osteen. Her spiritual life was the cornerstone of her gentle and compassionate character, uplifting all those who came into her orbit.

Rhonda’s memory is cherished by those who survive her: her former husband, Lonnie Darley; her beloved sisters, Brenda Kaddatz and her husband Alvin, and Jennifer Bryan; step-sons Preston, Sean, and Brian Darley; and her nephew, Jacob Gibbens. Each was touched by her steady love and encouragement, whether through cheerful conversation or her thoughtful acts of generosity.

She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Willie Howard Bryan and Ollie Pearl Stegall Bryan, and her treasured son, Stephen Douglas Fortner, all of whom she held close in her heart.

Those fortunate to have known Rhonda will remember her unwavering kindness, her faith-filled optimism, and the way she quietly enriched the lives of so many. Her presence will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by family and friends alike.
