Obituary

Richard Eugene Graham, 58, of Wills Point, Texas, passed away on January 21, 2026, in Wills Point. Born on January 6, 1968, in Athens, Texas, Richard lived a life marked by dedication to his work, deep love for his family, and an infectious sense of humor that brought joy to those around him.

Richard graduated from Brownsboro High School in 1986. Driven by a passion for mechanics and innovation, he went on to attend MIT, where he earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1987. He furthered his skills by completing the Ford Certified Mechanical School in 1988. His education laid the foundation for a lifelong career in mechanics.

He worked as a mechanic for Waste Connections out of Wills Point, where he was known for his expertise and strong work ethic. Richard took pride in his craft and was respected by colleagues for both his technical skill and his generous spirit.

Family was at the heart of Richard's world. He is survived by his son, Justin Graham and wife Candace; daughters, Valerie Carter and husband Fred, Rebecca Kirkpatrick and husband Colin, and son, Justin Williams; his father, Gordon (Peelar) Graham; brother, Gordon Graham and wife Brenda; sisters, Rhonda Lawrick and husband Willie, and Leann Perry and husband Sean. He also leaves behind eight beloved grandchildren: Bentlee Barham, Jacob Henshaw, Braelee Taylor, Zoey Carter, Justin Williams, James Williams, Cody Kirkpatrick, and Brooklynn Kirkpatrick. A host of extended family members also mourn his passing.

Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife Laura Graham; mother Reba Neil Graham; and grandparents Grandma White and Melvin White.

Outside of work and family life, Richard found joy in fishing and spending time with loved ones. He had a deep appreciation for all sports—from wrestling to powerlifting—and was an avid supporter of the Dallas Cowboys. Known for being loving, generous, funny, and adventurous, Richard had a magnetic personality that made him unforgettable. Whether cracking jokes or embarking on spontaneous adventures, he had a way of making every moment memorable.

Richard Eugene Graham will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him and continue to inspire laughter and adventure in their lives.
