He was raised in Crandall, Texas. He attended Crandall High School. He was employed at Precision Machine in Athens. He was of the Christian faith

and enjoyed spending his time Fishing.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents and brother Clifford Gilmore.

He is survived by his angel, best friend, and life-long companion Judy Bednar; two sons: James Gilmore and Hannah, Jared Bednar and Tara; brother, Thomas Baucom; five sisters: Mary Baucom and husband Harold, Linda Smith, Janice Minter, Karen Gilmore, Shirley Ann Jones and husband Buddy; four grandchildren: Brantley, Montgomery, Shana Jo, and one on the way; many nieces and nephews,
these are a few that he was very close to:
Kevin, Jamie, Wayne, Danny, April, and Audrey. He also leaves behind his best friend John Jones and his
four-legged
best friend, Alice.
